Little Red is a Belgian Draft Horse, Friesian, Saddlebred gelding cross who was about to board a trailer to Mexico but got rescued instead!
Red was born prematurely, and he had a difficult time standing and walking on his legs at first because the small bones in his hocks weren’t fully developed yet. Unfortunately, due to his medical condition, his previous owner dumped him at an auction where a “kill buyer” bought him.
He was there with 30 other horses and due to his physical ailments, all the other horses got rescued except for him. On the final day of the auction, with only minutes left before closing, Little Red received a miracle and got bailed out just in time!
The horse that vets said may never be able to stand, now walks, trots, and canters soundly across the pasture with all his buddies!
His story is the inspiration behind our new mission to support horse rescues across the country. Because of Red, a portion of every bottle sold now goes to non-profits who are working hard to rescue horses just like him!
